About
IndieMuse is a first generation music blog that I founded in 2006.
It started completely as a passion project for me when I was in high school to keep track of new bands I was discovering. I had no idea that it would quickly turn into a popular blog with over 150,000 music lovers visiting a month. The site was featured in numerous publications, such as New York Magazine, and hundreds of other websites put IndieMuse on their blogroll. It was common for artists to put IndieMuse quotes in their press releases and on their CDs.
The site was also invited by MOG (which later became Beats and Apple Music) to be one of 30 launch partners for their music ad network.
I was the main contributor to IndieMuse, however, as the site grew, I recruited five writers and managed the team.
In 2008, Examiner.com recruited me to be their first “National Music Journalist” and I covered music festivals around the country for them. My writing appeared in 110 editions across the United States, contributing to the sites 10 million visitors a month.
